It’s hard to believe a full year has passed since we released Hitman: Absolution to the world. As many of you will know, we spent a long time developing that game and to think it’s been in the wild for that long already is quite incredible.
We felt like we couldn’t let this anniversary go by without marking it somehow for all the fans out there so we’d like to share a few numbers and hand out a freebie for you all. Looking at just how dedicated you have all been is truly inspiring. We poked around the servers and had a look at a range of different data entries. What they told us is, at least to us, pretty mind blowing.~
We checked our metrics yesterday morning and over 6 million people have played Hitman Absolution. We counted 6,112,047 in total, which is a strangely fitting number given the occasion. This is a really humbling number for us and we’re obviously really proud of that achievement. We can also see that our Contracts mode has been a grand success with over 9.5 million contracts played and a staggering $2.2 trillion in virtual cash earned through contracts play. We’re obviously thrilled to see the Hitman fans engage with this online mode, which is one of the most exciting innovations to come to the Hitman series and it’s sure to be a major part of our future plans for the franchise.
Finally, to mark this one-year anniversary of Hitman: Absolution, we’ve decided to give the Full Disclosure iPad app away for free for a limited time. The app features more than 250 images and 25 videos that give a detailed look at discarded concepts, abandoned ideas, and early prototype videos that show just how diverse an experience the birth of a game really is.
Thank you all for your dedication. Stay tuned to this new blog for more news from us soon.
